MISSION STATEMENT

'Enhancing young people's contribution to development and democracy'

AIM

The Commonwealth Youth Forum aims to promote the values and principles of the Commonwealth by supporting young people as active citizens and change-makers contributing to the development of their communities and the Commonwealth.

CYF OBJECTIVES

1. To provide a platform for young people to contribute to Commonwealth and CHOGM agendas.

2. To demonstrate the role and contribution young people make in promoting development and     democracy.

3. To develop young people's understanding of the Commonwealth and Commonwealth values

4. To develop a network of young Commonwealth 'advocates' and citizens active in their home countries and in wider Commonwealth and global initiatives.

5. To demonstrate the critical importance of partnership between young people, government and civil society as a strategy for sustainable development.

6. To provide the host country with an opportunity to showcase young people's participation in the promotion of the Commonwealth at the time of CHOGM.

7. To promote networking and interchange between young people and their organisations.
